On 2 July 2026, La Cité in Toulouse (France) will host the Mediterranean Agri-food Innovation and Sustainability Day, the final event of the European CESAM project (Circular Economy and Sustainable Agri-food in the Mediterranean).
This closing event will bring together institutional representatives, innovation ecosystem stakeholders, SMEs and European Commission representatives to showcase the project’s achievements, reflect on the actions carried out throughout its implementation, and explore future opportunities for collaboration and European funding in the agri-food sector.
A day dedicated to innovation and sustainable transition
Throughout the day, participants will take part in a rich programme of keynote speeches, panel discussions, project presentations and networking sessions focused on accelerating the transition towards more sustainable and circular agri-food systems across the Pyrenees-Mediterranean region.
The programme will include discussions on the future of sustainable agri-food systems within the European Union, presentations of innovative solutions and best practices developed in Catalonia, the Balearic Islands and Occitania, as well as a dedicated session led by EISMEA highlighting European funding opportunities available to SMEs.
A roundtable discussion will also explore how interregional cooperation can foster innovation, featuring testimonials and lessons learned from both the I3 Instrument and the CESAM project.
Showcasing innovative SME projects
One of the highlights of the event will be the presentation of 16 innovative agri-food projects developed by SMEs supported through CESAM. These pitch sessions will demonstrate how circular economy, sustainability and digital innovation can generate concrete solutions for the agri-food sector.
The event will conclude with an award ceremony recognising the most outstanding initiatives, followed by networking opportunities designed to strengthen connections between companies, public institutions and innovation stakeholders.

About the CESAM Project
CESAM (Circular Economy and Sustainable Agri-food in the Mediterranean) supports the transition towards a more sustainable, efficient and circular agri-food model across the Mediterranean area.
Co-funded by the European Union, the project brings together nine partners from Occitania, Catalonia and the Balearic Islands, including Fundació Bit, the Pyrenees-Mediterranean Euroregion, ACCIÓ, Agri Sud-Ouest Innovation and AD’OCC.
By strengthening cooperation between regions, research and innovation organisations, and businesses, CESAM promotes the development of circular economy solutions, sustainable practices and digital innovation, with a particular focus on enhancing the competitiveness and resilience of agri-food SMEs.
