AGRIPOWER project aims to enhance the value of agrivoltaic systems by monitoring agricultural and livestock variables and their influence on energy production, and to harness their potential to meet the challenge of the energy transition and the viability of agriculture.
- Project duration: 36 months, 2024 – 2025
- Total budget: 1.823.294,86€
- EU Financing rate: 65%
Objectives
The overall objective is to develop and improve research and innovation capabilities and the use of cutting-edge technologies of agrivoltaic systems.
The specific objectives are:
- To pool resources and capacities at cross-border level to carry out an in-depth study of the state of the art of agrivoltaic systems in agriculture and livestock farming.
- To implement a set of pilot trials to study the productive potential of rotational arable crops and fruit trees in the open and under cover and in complementary agricultural areas, as well as the behaviour of sheep in shaded areas
- To transfer the results of the pilot actions to policies supporting the deployment of renewable energies and the competitiveness of farms and promote the assimilation of agro-political systems by the cross-border production fabric.
